sunshine in the rainy rainy spring of new england

IMG_1527

I’ve mentioned before here about Twilight and New Moon by Stephenie Meyer, but now I’ve got a little more to say…

They are young adult books about a high school girl who moves to a town and falls in love with a guy who turns out to be a vampire. Sounds lame? Well, I’m not ashamed to say—I loved them!!! And I am not the only one!!!

Krista got all of the siblings (for those of you who don’t know, these are my siblings: Brooke, Kara, Caleb and Krista) to read them, and it has been so fun! We keep calling each other to discuss plots, analyze characters and wonder what the future will bring…{the third book, Eclipse, comes out in August.}

Well, in honor of the third book coming out, the author and publishers are putting on the “Eclipse Prom” in the Phoenix area in May, where the author will read the first chapter of Eclipse, among other things. Brooke got 5 tickets! I am kind of the odd man out, living across the country from them all, and I have been sad at the prospect of a sibling reunion that I would most likely miss.

Well, Jake loves me, and decided to indulge me in siblings and authors and bought me plane tickets! Even though it is over the weekend of our 11th anniversary! Even though I just went to California! If that isn’t the best husband in the world, I don’t know what is. Besides the fact that he was the best husband in the world before he went and did this, it just carved it in stone.

So now I’m all excited! Maybe I can sit in on the cookie panel for a week? I get to love on all my nieces and nephews. What should I wear to the prom? Anyone have something fun and vintage I can borrow?

This sounds so lovely and divine. The phone calls and chats-all of you pondering over what to me sounds like fun books.

Then the trip-what a fabulous husband. You will have such a terrific time.

I too have read these books and they are very, very good. I fell in love with Edward. What a wonderful hubby you have. You are very lucky! Have a blast at the prom and spending time with your fun family! How cute are you and your siblings?

Jake is the awesomest! I totally have dresses you could wear! How do I get them to you! And no they are not peach and off the shoulder and floor-length. What ever happened to that dress?

So are you guys gonna come see Ted and I on the west side while you are here or what? ;)

We could meet you in the middle or even come to the east side.

Oh...and I'm a little jealous about the prom thing. Sold out both of them. Adrienne and I are hooked on the books too. We are very frustrated, however, that we have to wait until August to find out what happens next. I like to find great authors and great series when they are already done, not in the middle or very beginning. I don't want to wait to know what happens next...I want to know now! Great patience, huh?

-love you-

Holy cow!! A prom where you get to hear the first chapter...it would send me into a frenzy because you then have to wait until AUGUST!! But it sounds like so so so much fun and what a generous husband. I hope you all have so much fun and take pictures!! (I think I would be secretly hoping to see Edward and Belle walk in at some point...do you think there will be vampires there?)

How fun! I love those books too, though I must confess to feeling that she didn't quite pull it off with the ending of New Moon. I totally didn't buy it that Bella wouldn't. . . {sort of spoiler alert -- don't read on if you're reading the book!!} well, that she said NO. You know? I felt the author there trying to keep the story going for another book, rather than doing what the characters WOULD have done! But still, I do love that Edward Cullen! Also, Brittany, I've just been looking at your website -- all your cards are so beautiful and creative!!

Stephanie Meyer would truly be a genius if she were just luring all of you there--to be pataken of by a coven of vampires! Morbid, but worse things have happened, right? I mean, think of the possibilities if you became vampires (good ones, of course)! I am almost more excited for the pictures of your prom then I am for the third book! Giddy am I!
