"...and mom and dad can hardly wait for school to start again..."
I used to think that line was just mean and unnecessary. I kind of get it now. There’s a lot more cleaning and planning and refereeing when everyone has some time off. Me, I’d like to take a little rest—I’m tired! Them, they just want to play. Me, I want to relax in a nice clean house. Them, they seem to enjoy their Christmas toys more when they are spread in an even layer throughout the house. Me, I’d like to drink some hot chocolate. Them, they would too, but I don’t want to have to deal with the aftermath of sugary bliss. Me, I’d like to sleep through the night. Them, they have a secret code: I woke her up last night; it’s your turn tonight.
Me, I really do love those little people. I'm so glad they're mine. (But man, they’re exhausting.)
On a business sidenote:
My etsy shop was recently spotted on the Rachel Ray show about cool online shopping ideas. How cool is that!? Too bad I don't have TiVo.
I am currently ordering more fabric and will be offering hostess aprons throughout the year for your various gifting and baking needs. You'll be the first to know when they are ready--thanks for all the enusiasm!

What a lovely picture of little warm, pink toes! I hope you get a few minutes of peace during the break. It seems like my kids are fighting less than normal. I think its the Wii they got for Christmas. :)
I can relate!!! Love the pictures...just so cute. I gave the scrapbook to my stepmom for Christmas and she really loved it! She even called me the next day to let me know how special it was and what she was going to use it for. So thank you!
i'm right there with you. i used to think bad moms did't take advantage of the special vacation time with their kids. now i understand that good moms know how to survive it. that's the key. they should make an "xmas holiday mommy advent calendar" with a little prozac, (or chocolate at the very least) behind each of the 14 days. hang in there.
Rachel Ray?? That is cool! Even though I gotta admit, I can't stand the woman, that is still really good for you! I'm not surprised.. you're seriously talented.. my mother in law loved the lotion I got from you, and I had fun telling her how your shop was on R.R. (she's a big fan) I was thrilled to get a chance to try out your plumeria lotion.. LOVED IT!! Oh, and I'm counting down the days til school starts, every mom out there knows that feeling!!
I knew you were the coolest chick ever. Rachel Ray! You are cool, even if your kids do drive you crazy. That just makes you a little human.
congratulations honey! that's so cool :-) hope 2008 brings you even more goodness xo
I love the way you wrote this! Children are exhausting, but I can tell you also take great pleasure in the little (and sometimes irritating) things they do. You know you really love someone when you find their little quirks endearing.
congrats on being found! your aprons are adorable--I can see why they've sold out so fast! I moved my blog over to typepad and changed the name. It's at: http://kraftmama.typepad.com/my_weblog/ if you want to update your link list and visit me sometime!
Well, I don't even have kids, but I can imagine it must be nice when they go back to school!! Looking back over your pictures, it looks really COLD there! Wow. I wish WE had icicles. And snow. Especially now that we have a new furnace :-) But wait, I thought you lived in sunny California! Huh. i'm confused
I am trying really hard to not be glad in any way that school is starting back tomorrow. I love my children in the most exhausting sort of way...especially right now.
That's really cool Britt that it was featured on Rachel Ray. Very exciting.
Something I love about no school is that I don't have to get up and rush out the door. Its nice to be able to stay in my pjs a little longer than usual.
Hey now,
Loved your "Rebutting My Humbug" post. I see the same stuff around me each day. Well said.
Oh, and congrats on the nod from R. Ray. Soon there'll be so many posts on your blog, you won't have time to read them all!
Keep up the good work, and remember, you're inspiring another artist every day!
Talented, beutiful, and now famous! That's amazing! I'm glad we go in baby steps bc if you threw three kids and a break at me right now I SO couldn't handle it...I'm lucky if my kid sees the light of day right now (or he's lucky, I suppose).
Very cute aprons. :) Congrats on the Rachel plug.
