Ah, November.
I have a special kinship with November. It is my birth month. That’s right, I’m a scorpio. We’re mysterious and all that. What’s that? You don’t know any scorpios? Oh, well, you probably do but they don’t just come right out and tell you, they want to you to figure it out yourself. (Maybe it’s because we’re, um… mysterious.) Or it could be because our sign always scares people off. There’s that whole thing about being very jealous. (“watch out for the scorpio’s sting!”) But I think it’s a bunch of hoo-hah. (yes, hoo-hah.) I think it gets way to much play in scorpio’s horoscope.
I have a new little scorpio in my life. A new nephew. Isn’t he the sweetest? (yes, brittany, he is.) (scorpios are so controlling!) This new family is in heaven and you can’t help but feel it when you are around them. What a delight.
But that’s not all I love about November. It starts out great, what with all of the leftover candy from Halloween. (I was going to do a post with cute pictures, but I just have been too ridiculously busy. That’s a whole other post in itself.) Then we start to think about Thanksgiving and the focus of the whole month turns to gratefulness. What can be more uplifting?
The leaves have mostly dropped from the trees, doing their pretty little dance on their way down to the ground, but I have several Japanese Maples in my yard and they are in a fit of showy redness right now. I don’t remember this happening in the past. Last November I was on bed rest, and I don’t know what I focused on the year before, but this year, I’m focusing right on the bold little trees who are refusing to blend in. That’s right, let’s have all the beauty we can stand, little Japanese Maple, I’m right there with you. Maybe I’ll actually do my hair today and wear something snappy. (speaking of, I think I will start a portfolio of outfits my eldest comes up with—it is inspiring me to be more bold.) (there. I just did.)
Happy November, friends!

Your daughter's outfits are awesome! I work with kids, and I have to admit I get inspired by their fashion sense, too! ;)
Happiness. Happy color combinations, both by nature, and your most beautiful eldest daughter. Happy month of the scorpio. Hopefully I will remember your birthday this year. Did I remember it last year? Who knows, you probably don't :)
I agree, November is a great month. My oldest was born at the very end. Mysterious indeed! Hope you have a wonderful "birth" month. So much to celebrate--especially your gorgeous photos (and family!)
Great post, very uplifting! I received your wonderful lotion in the mail and I just love it! Thank you so much for making such a great product. I love that it is all natural too--it is really helping my dry itchy legs!
My Mum is a scorpio, so despite what you say about them getting bad press, I happen to know from experience that sometimes they can be scary! As for your daughter.... best dresser ever.
I was all happy enough with your funny whit and then I saw the Japanese Maple and got more happy and then I saw the polka dots and the darling stripes (and awesome shoes) and now I am banging the desk with my fist because I cannot contain the exclamations of adoration at the cuteness. So darling. I am a total sucker for stripes...and polka dots, together or not.
i love all these great photos ... i am also a november baby, straddling the cusp of Scorpio and Sagittarius, tee hee ...
i am wearing the same stripy socks as your daughter today, same colour too except mine are black and pink ;-)
xoxox
Loving all your leaves... and who knew you were a november baby too (must be all that mystery after all) oh, and don't you get so tired of the stereotypes... BUT oh the dots and stripes and the browns and pinks and reds, she's my new fashion heroine!
i knew there was a reason I feel close to you...i am a mysterious november scorpio too...
