8 random things

IMG_3002

I was tagged by my loverly boho girl who thought I could use a little fun…and it’s true. It was hard to come up with this list for some reason and I bet after I post it, I’ll think of 87 things that would have been more interesting…

The Rules
-We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
-Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
-People who are tagged write their own blog post about their eight things and include these rules.
-At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and they should read your blog.

1. Since I hurt my ankle on Wednesday, I have read Harry Potter #1 and #2 and Eclipse. (Yes, I just happened to be one of the lucky lucky happy lucky people to get a copy early, and no, I won’t tell you what happens, but I will say that I think I’m already in my post Eclipse depression.)

2. I’m glad that this is a ‘random’ list instead of a ‘favorite’ list—I hate choosing favorites. I can never do it, whether it’s colors, flowers, food…I prefer going with what I’m in the mood for. There’s always a perfectly wonderful reason to love every color, why limit yourself to one? There’s beauty in every single flower, I couldn’t be exclusive like that! And food, well there are endless flavors and textures that make me salivate. I love food (although I don’t like sloppy joes, no offence, little innocent {disgusting} sandwiches). Man, there's just too much beauty in the world to have to choose favorites.

3. I have wanted to be an artist for as long as I can remember. Sometimes my 8 year old tells her friends that I am an artist when she introduces me to them, and it makes me uncomfortable, because I feel like I’m still “becoming” an artist and have a long way to go before I reach my goal, so I usually correct her with some other title that seems more acurate.

4. I guess people could (and do) consider me a little clumsy…I kick over glasses, break dishes (and bones), trip a lot, drool a lot, have gotten stitches 4 times (but probably needed them several more times since, but in my adulthood have stopped going to the hospital for deep wounds), and the list goes on and on…

5. Almost every time I go to the grocery store I grab myself a chocolate milk and drink it while I’m shopping. When I get to the counter, I pay for it and they throw it away for me.

6. I am legally blind without my contacts in. I have to find my glasses BEFORE I take my contacts out, or it’s a ridiculous sight, my nose an inch away from any surface and roaming hands… “Jake!! Help! Do you see my glasses??”

7. I got married when I was only 20 years old. It made me a little frustrated to fulfill the expectations of my seminary class who voted me most likely to be the first one married, but what can you do when it’s RIGHT? I haven’t regretted it a day since. We belong together.

8. I’m pretty quiet and shy (unless I know you well) and hate being the center of attention. I’d much rather sit back and watch. It’s very hard to make myself speak the things that go on in my head.

*bonus thing: I have never smoked or had a drink of alcohol. Literally. Although it has been a temptation at moments, I have stuck by my goal. It's always amusing to see docotors' faces when they ask me questions and hear answers like that.

Following the rules, I'm tagging Kara, Clairissa, Emily, Paige , Jamie, Delia, Thea, Jeni

NOT FAIR NOT FAIR NOT FAIR!!! I'm checking all the bookstores around here and no one's selling them yet. It's probably all just as well..I'm already in post vacation depression, which if I added post-Eclipse depression, that may be a lethal combo!! I might have to, I dont know ... climb mount everest or something! :)

Mmmm...now I'm craving chocolate milk.

the thing that's not fair is that I need to talk to someone about it, but no one else can get a copy yet!!!! I'm going to go crazy!

I just overnighted one to brooke and kara, but I'm desperate. if you called me I'd probably give away the entire book and let it come spilling out of me.

no spoilers. no spoilers....no spoilers....no no no spoilers...

I guess that's true...ignorance is bliss sometimes. And this way, you can start getting through your post-eclipse depression so you can help the rest of us cope when we get it :)

Punk, I've never like the game tag! Those were good tid bits, written in the wee hours of the night with perhaps some pain pills in you, no doubt! ha ha

I love finding things out about people...and would it be too bizarre if the little sister of your good friend randomly came to visit your beautiful home?...I gotta see it. And I have to say, being "tagged" feels a little like I have won something. Thank you, thank you, I would like to personally thank Brittany, my Mom and the syruppy waffles I had at breakfast...(I'm trying not to think about how many more days I have to wait until Eclipse comes out, its very soon...)

All your facts are very interesting. I really love your blog. And sorry about your ankle but are you sure you didn't just fake it to get some good reading in? Just kidding. I'm anxiously awaiting my copy of Eclipse from Amazon. I preordered it ages ago! Can't wait!!!

I am clumsy, and I drool a lot, and break bones as well. Sad sad jeans.... And I think it is really cute that Anna introduces you as an artist, she must be so proud of you!

I pre-ordered it on Amazon.com and apparently they don't SHIP it until the release date (Aug. 7th) so they say the expected arrival date is Aug 10-15! Now, what is the point of pre-ordering it if it is faster to just go down to Barnes and Noble??? Now I know better, I guess!

I loved these facts about you, especially the drooling (me too --the other day I drooled on the counter while doing dishes), and that Anna introduces you as an artist.

Also, I have to tell you... This morning I was filling out an information sheet on Mikayla for preschool and I asked her what her favorite color was. Guess what she said? "All the colors!" I guess that means her nametag will be rainbow!

I did it! Thank you for tagging me, Britt--this was fun. Hope you're hanging in there!
Love,

ha ha ha, jeans, 'bad jeans', ha ha. I think you meant genes but your spelling makes it much more funny!

I love that you drink the chocolate milk as you're shopping and then pay for it. That makes me laugh. I also love that you have never had a lick of alcohol or a puff of smoke. You're my hero! OH - and I'm glad to have a friend who is equally as blind. We'll be old ladies together with our glasses falling off our noses and tripping over stuff. Okay?

I can't even finish the rest of the post because I can't understand how you have a copy of Eclipse? How? It doesn't come out until menana!

I hate sloppy joes too! I always have and then I decided to make them a while ago just to make sure I still hated them and I did! They're just gross. I hate picking favorites too - why limit yourself? We're so alike. :)

Ok - I just finished "eclipse" last night (I didn't get it until Friday-they sold out around here and then I took as long as I could to read it as I had swallowed the other two whole and now I have to wait another year for the next dose). I am seriously addicted. Sometimes I think these books are my "drugs" as well as my "sunshine and air" all in one! Who'd ever thought being a vampire would be so enticing! I guess I have also hit the post Eclipse depression - have any other good suggestions as I'm desperate for something new to read?
