Evidence...

that every "childless" hour counts:

Evidence

In the week and a half that has given me {not quite} 6 hours of everyone-is-in-school time, which has been designated as my time to work {but really it feels like play} in the barn, I have finished several projects, including something my own father ordered a YEAR ago (Sorry, dad! And Happy Birthday!!!), a painting that I had started for #1’s Birthday {six months ago} (she has taken to leaving me notes, “Mommy, will you please paint a face on my faerie? Thanks, A.”), a cutie little bitty board book (Krista, don’t look yet:), and a teacher gift (the student had a lot of input, which just makes it more fun). I have filled orders and click-and-shipped. It's quite fullfilling to have some creative time.

*and just cause I was trying to use my flickr toys, I tried out a little slideshow of some of these projects. If you feel like checking it out, click the link below:

So cool!!!! I love the learn from the flowers one. Alice in wonderland was my favorite. I'm glad the creative juices are flowing. I want to be there when Krista gets that book!!

Oh my heck! Krista's baby announcement is the most amazing, cute thing I've EVER seen in my life. You have to tell me how you did that?! How you printed it, etc. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.

Hey dude. That was my deleted comment above in case you're wondering. I didn't put in the necessary exclamations. You're so creative and talented!! I'm so glad that you get some "creative me time" during the week.

I love the board book, she's going to love it! I love the clip board? with the owl/knowledge stuff, so darn cute! And I love everything you're doing with the layered flowers, very sweet.

Ahhh, I can't wait to see what kind of juices flow when they are all in school full time...maybe even some canvases?!?

I miss you, when do I get to see you again? Do you want to come to California for Thanksgiving or something? Hmmm, why when I move here did everything get so complicated? What happened to the "benefits of living near the mother ship"?

Oh how I wish there was school for 2.5 year olds:) Free is the key word and fun and run by an educated professional:)

Great creating-congrats on the free time.

Thanks for all the support, girlies:) You're filling me to the brim.

Clair: I found a little tiny 3x3 blank board book in the scrapbooking section of Michael's I can't even remember the brand, but I bought a few, because how cute is that? and then I just printed the pictures that Brooke took at the hospital and had at it. Wouldn't that be the funnest idea ever--to send a little board book as your baby announcement?? But that would cost like a million bucks. It's a one-of-a-kinder, I suppose, but it's getting my brain going a little...

BEAUTIFUL...and SO much more impressive than how I've been spending my "child free" hours (grading portfolios for the college), sigh...soon--I hope to get there soon!
Love,
D.

Everything is so beautiful. I love the colors on the faerie. Those are my colors.

I got the scrapbook in the mail. It is perfect!!! You are so gifted! Thank you!!!

How big is that faerie painting? Is it on canvas? I really, really love it!

Dini: I'm so glad you like the scrapbook. It was fun thinking of you the whole time:)

The painting is on 12x16" canvas. Thank you!!! It's my first "mixed media." I figured that I paint and I collage and scrapbook and alter...i should combine them and try "mixed media" and it was really fun. the face was blank for a good six months because I was scared--faeries have to be pretty, and that can be intimidating:)

Aw, Britt! (Or is it Brit? Anyway, I feel I can call you that, what with my name being another that ends in "ney"!) You mentioned me too in Wendy's blog! That makes me feel good! I almost don't need my own blog--I can just talk to everyone through Wendy's! Ha ha. Actually, I am beginning to think about starting one! Only thing is, I don't like the pressure of feeling the need to be funny or witty. But I talked that one through with Wendy, and I think I can just let it go. :) So look for me soon!
