bed rest

Well, I am in bed. My body held out as long as it could, but with the combination of contractions and my blood pressure rising, I have been ordered to take a load off.

My sweet husband has been taking good care of me and so have friends and family. Before he left for work, he ran the laundry and the dishwasher. I have a computer on my lap, my ipod, the phone and the clickers within reach. I have a bag full of yarn for making little tiny whatever-I-wants, I have a stack of books that I may or may not read, and a fridge full of good food to eat. The sun is shining through my window making such pleasant light on the sheer curtains. My children come and climb into bed with me in the morning and evening and I have two babies growing in my belly all safe and sound. There is a lot to be thankful for.

My family making a bed rest rescue calendar
The missionaries coming to rake the leaves and stack the wood
My parents paying for Carolyn to come clean 2 hours every week
Dinners from friends
Jake’s mom coming every time I call at the drop of a hat
RN Connie telling me like it is

I know it will be hard, but just enjoy this time of rest -- let other people do all the worrying and cleaning. The Lord will provide!

You are awesom Britt! Before you know it those little miracles will be here and you will start the next chapter in the book of being a Mom!

B! I cannot wait to see you and the little ones. I'm glad to hear you are being taken care of.
Here's something for you to do if you so choose: I tagged you in my blog because I want to hear about your quirks! It's kind of fun and interesting. Can't wait to see you!

I hope the time flys by and is filled with lots more sunshine and books, and treats, and snuggles from the kids :)

Aaaaahhhh, bedrest. I was on complete bedrest for 6 weeks before my body couldn't take the pg anymore & they induced. I'm not going to lie, it's tough. But, having a good attitude, like it seems you have, is the best way to look at it. Lean on your support group. They'll help you get through it. Hang in there and keep us posted!

Where can I sign up for this bed rest thing?
Ok, I know there is a risky side too--and you are so beautiful and grateful, even when others would be having a pity party. We will pray for your blood pressure and all else that is being sqished, pushed, stretched, etc! Give the babies a rub from me!

You've made it so far! That is great..enjoy your rest.. and btw, is that Connie from L&D at the hospital?? Totally know her..and yes, she will tell you just how it is! And if it's the same Connie, then she will be having arguments with your girls if they don't cooperate while she's trying to get their heartbeats on the monitor! Good luck! And take care!!

That must be so hard! I was VERY lucky and was never perscribed bed rest (I put myself on it at the end, I couldn't hardly walk or stand I was so big). I know how hard it is to not be able to care for your family and kids. You have such an amazing attitude about it
ps. I am praying you dont get PUPPS like I did. that was the horror of all!!!!! A rash that occurs in some multiple pregnancies. I was put on steriods. The only thing that makes it go away is delivering, but I still had 3 wks before my doc would induce.... HORRIBLE NIGHTMARE! YOu are doing great :)

Hey there cousin Britt:) I've been reading your blog for a while now and have enjoyed keeping up with you and your family. I started blogging back in September and am amazed at the family members I've been able to find. Laura was on bed rest with her last pregnancy. It was hard for her to stay down with 5 boys running around, but it sounds like you've got a great attitude and good help! Hang in there:)

I wish I could be the one to bring you yummy meals and company. I thing about you all the time and wish I could come and distract you a little. I would look at pictures with you, and reminisce, and make treats, and read out loud while you did crafty things with your clever hands...

xian, that is so funny! yes, it is one in the same. It was kind of nice to hear her point of view. It helped me be more resolved and "do my job" to make two healthy babies.

You sound great! Those little babies are lucky to have you! I can't wait to hear the names you decide on. I am going on my 7th week of bedrest and have 10 more to go. I really only get sad about 2 things.
1. I can't decorate the house all Christmasy and do all the Christmasy things I want to.
2. I can't go visit our other daughters gravesite. (I feel like she will forgive me, but it breaks my heart when other people tell me they went!)

I don't know Mikael, but she mentioned PUPPPS! I got it with my first. Since you have a laptop, look it up on-line. It is sooooo bad! Hope you NEVER get it. It is the worse thing ever!! I will be praying for you and sending happy thoughts your way. Sounds like we may deliver around the same time. Early Feb. Love you!!
